FFL help needed

My ex-spouse has a 9MM Ruger PC carbine (NY state compliant obviously) registered to her name in NYC. She voluntarily surrendered it to NYPD on 06/30/20 (she did not want to pay to renew the NYC license, etc.). I am trying to purchase the carbine from her. I am looking for an FFL that can pick up the carbine from NYPD Property Clerk (located at 1 Police Plaza, New York, NY, 10038) and subsequently transfer it to me using a standard procedure. I found a local FFL in NYC that agreed to do it, but I have been waiting for him for 2 +months and he keeps postponing. By law, NYPD property clerk will dispose of the gun 1 year after the surrender date (which will be on 06/30/21) and I dont want to wait till last moment.

If you are an FFL that is willing to do the transfer or know an FFL that is willing to do it, please PM me. I am obviously willing to pay a reasonable fee for the trouble of traveling to NYC, the administrative overhead associated with this process, etc. My ex-spouse will produce a notarized bill of sale issued to the FFL that will pick up the firearm from NYPD and will supply all the surrender receipts.

Sorry for your troubles. But try some of the service-oriented Nassau County FFLs, like Hunter Essentials in Albertson, and see if they are willing to make the trip.

But depending on what you are paying your ex- for this gun, it may not be worth it. A used PC is maybe $500 even in today's crazy market, and an FFL will blow out most of a day getting downtown to 1PP and trying to recover the gun for which I am sure there will be a significant cost. Might just be easier to buy a replacement.

She needs to fill out the form to “unregister” it from her . it can be sold to who ever but if she dont itll go back to her down the road

Agree with @C3D. More hassle than what it's worth. Write it off and call it a day
