Now, the bodybuilder juiced. The footballer had constant trauma (like USA football players). I would be shocked if the KFC, Nutella, Winston, opium, Hennessy folks actually used their own products much. The rabbit was always stressed and the turtle could give a shit about anything.

Still going after it myself. I was getting pretty aggressive on the treadmill with 30lb backpack EOD but some plantar fasciitis started flaring up. Got some new insoles and toned it down a little so I am not completely knocked out of it.

Doing some light upper body work until my shoulder is all better, and backed off leg work a little to do more cardio.

I've found putting cotton balls lightly packed (too tightly packed has the opposite effect) will give me just enough support in the right places. I can never find "perfect" shoes, so I sort of make up the difference like that.

Maybe try to do something similar. Different insoles, cotton balls lightly taped in place with paper tape, etc -- play around to find what works.

I already have insoles. They only do so much.

Keep getting blisters on my bunion but not much I can do. I think I have a good system of taping it up with a combo of a regular bandaid, a few layers of moleskin, and paper tape -- or waterproof tape / duct tape if my feet are getting wet. Otherwise, is what it is.

Hit the weights again this morning. Full body twice a week, cardio twiice a week, walks on rest days. Definitely getting stronger.

well, Im now about 30-40 pounds over weight, not due to covid (ok, partially) but due to shoulder surgery. I have been sitting on my ass for 10 weeks now, I have never been so bored in my life. for 8 weeks i was afraid to do anything because I was afraid to re-tear the rotator cuff or something else. Now we are in the stretching phase and soon to start the strength phase.

My hand got all fucked up from just sitting in a sling for 6 weeks straight, we're just getting to the point were I can use it again, although my wife still has to cut my steak because I can't grip anything yet. but now that its getting nice out, we are taking Einstein for walks around the neighborhood.

The good news is, I do practice shooting with my left hand.

I want to do the light this year just to get a feel, but I think I could probably do the Tough. I have my system down to a science. I know where all my hotspots are on my foot / I'm a pro at preventing and treating blisters. I ruck twice a week up and down a 35 degree hill for an hour to keep up my stamina, with a 30 pound plate -- feels like nothing now.

Still, my goal isn't to destroy myself -- it's to build my way up. I'll start light, and if that feels a breeze I'll do tough.

20 years ago I was in really good shape (seriously) I had around 10% body fat and I could work and play 18 to 20 hours a day, sleep a few hours and go right back at it.

Now, Im so broken down I can only watch and reminisce and cheer on you kids while you do these challenges. Good luck with this stuff, aahh the good-old-dayz

Im 47 and while i still consider myself fit, i was at my highest level of fitness at 27. I was 205lb with around 9% bf and lb for lb at my strongest. At 37 i got up to 236 with just over 11% bf and still moving heavy weights. At 47 i mostly averaged around 225lbs although this winter i added 5lbs to that due to less working out from shoulder problems. Over the summer i was deadlifting around 400lbs so still feeling strong.

Ive had shoulder issues since i was 19 from a combo of sports injuries and bad bench pressing form that i didnt correct until a couple years ago. So in short, I feel your pain @Jmac00 . Im hoping ill be able to keep up a routine by the time im 57, 67, and beyond. Its hard to let go of my "animal mentality" of pushing heavy weight, but for longevity I think I have to.

Recently i have gotten away from heavier weights and have been going lighter with higher reps and less volume to try and save my joints. I dont want to have to sit on the sidelines when Im older as that would kill me.

So, goruck added plate carrier vests recently. Training Weight Vest

I dislike these, so instead I got one of these hoses. Two actually. I can carry both with some paracord via the grommets to make handles, and throw it over my back to add weight quickly and easily. It's basically a firehose filled with steelshot. Shop All

The little ones would have been great as a way to throw them in my ruck to add another quick few pounds to get my up to 45lbs. Unfortuantely I can't do that cause they're too long and won't lay flat / fold like I want.

Instead, I think I'm going to just get some bricks and wrap them in duct tape, and throw them in the bottom of the ruck to get me up to 45lbs in the end. But for daily training, or as a team weight, these hoses look pretty nice to just grab one or two and go.
