Looks just like my old man did during his last week of life, in what they called "comfort care." Which actually translates to "starve and dehydrate the person to death, and give them enough morphine so that they can't protest." The one time my dad woke up during that week, all he did was ask for water.

As ineffective a President as he was, I think Carter was a good human being and his work with Habitat for Humanity is an example of what Presidents should be doing after they leave office. Much better for humanity than $30,000 book and speaking deals (looking at you Clinton and Obama).
The last month of so of my dad's life he looked like Carter did. For the most part he was incoherent. He doesn't have long now in my opinion.
It is all kinds of disgusting that he family is using him as a political prop saying that "he's holding on to vote for Kamala." Like hell he is. Let's be honest and say the kids/handlers wrote in the absentee/mail-in ballot already and they using that line to score points.

I agree. People don't even allow their dogs or cats to suffer like that. No doubt, Carter is not enjoying what's left of his limited time on earth. If not assisted suicide, at minimum load the person up with enough morphine (or whatever) to knock them out so they're totally unconscious. That would be my wish.
