I have no pity. I know 4 RN's , all are making well over $80K/yr. She claims her husband makes less than her but still "good money". How about people live within their means? Looking over her shittok, I cant help but notice the not small engagement/wedding band set, that her hair is dyed and its been kept up on, name brand clothing on everyone and never the same outfit twice, they have tropical fish, etc, etc.
How much do you want to bet they have two new vehicles with payments that are not basic transportation and over paid for their home because it was in a "good area". I bet they both have the latest and greatest phone because its "only $22 a month more". How many coffees do they buy a month? People like this have never have eaten beans and rice because they had to.
Sure times are tight for most out there, but maybe this should have been a lesson on how much shit you "needed" and what priorities should really be?

Meh, I get her point. I'm pissed off about the ridiculously high prices of stuff too, I'm also concerned about where it ends. Everything has always increased in price over time. But since the scamdemic started, the prices have doubled or even more than doubled in some cases.

It sucks to be paying twice as much for pretty much everything than I did a couple of years ago. I'm around $80,000-$90,000 (my wife doesn't work a job and I don't want her to) a year and I have had to adjust my lifestyle in a way that has brought the quality of my life down.

So, I can't jump on the boo-hoo too bad for you bandwagon with some of you guys. It sucks that my purchasing power has been affected in the way that it has even though I'm not in a paycheck-to-paycheck situation. Yet.

I have some friends and family members who are living paycheck to paycheck and things are really hard for them right now. I just recently lent a hard-working friend some money so he could buy the part for his furnace that he needed. A couple of years ago he wouldn't have needed my help.

Sure cutting back on spending can be made, and more sacrifices can always be made too. But as far as I'm concerned that's not the fucking point. I've never had to make cuts and sacrifices like this before, even years ago when I didn't make as much money.

The point is, what if a person at one time not that long ago could afford to go out and eat or buy their coffee at a take-out place? But that person can not anymore because of the out-of-control inflation.

I see this thread as how Bidenomics is adversely affecting Americans but this thread is going the route of slamming people for their spending habits. If a person goes to work every day, they should be able to afford some takeout. If not, there is something very wrong. I haven't worked my ass off my entire life only to pack my lunch and I don't expect other people to either. That's not the American dream, not even close.

I just think that some of you guys are blaming the wrong people. The working people.
Even though I make the same amount of money I can't live how I used to and my quality of life has gone downhill and that certainly isn't my fault.

Neither side here is wrong. It's undeniable that nearly everything is more expensive than it was just a few short years ago. It's also undeniable that many Americans have gotten so used to our many luxuries that they no longer view them as such.

These two realities do not negate one another in the least. So long as a person isn't asking me to subsidize their luxuries, I think they have every right to complain that their standard of living is being reduced as a result of government economic policies.

The plain and simple reality that inflation is NOT a fact of life. Inflation does not need to exist, it is nothing more than a backhanded way of taxing us. When tax increases (a.k.a. inflation) start reducing quality of life, we all have plenty of space to bitch.

I used to make veterinarian appointments for my animals when (kind of needed.) It was just one of those things that should be done and I would do it. Now, I have to consider if it's a serious enough issue before I spend that money.

I'm not poor, but I certainly can not live the way that I used to a few years ago. And I have not changed anything in my life as far as hard work and or personal drive to make money goes. That's not what has changed in my life. What changed is my money not going as far as it used to...

Read the article. Sounds like a small house, and they supposedly do try and watch the budget. Been there and understand. It's ridiculous how much everything costs. We got lucky to be where we are with our house & mortgage, but utilities, taxes, insurance, phone bills, internet - it adds up fast. (Likely she also has tuition loan payments. I didn't) Add in putting total focus on paying off all credit debt we accumulated and yeah, even with the best salary I've ever had and the wife working - we don't go out, and have not traveled in two years. Even by next December when the last debt payment is made, then I'm going to be funneling most of that into paying off the mortgage off early and finishing up the car payments a year and a half early. I'll see annual increases in pay, but when has that ever kept up with inflation? We do the best we can, mostly because we've been through a lot worse. 20 years ago at her age, I remember being afraid of not making rent / mortgage, or having to decide what bills to pay late.

I reheat coffee.

I walk around the property and eat random things.

I also work a lot. A LOT. Went in at 5 am Sunday and left for the 3rd and final time at 2 am Monday. Woke up and started working again at 6 am Monday and worked until 3pm. Worked a normal day today and have to go back again tonight, but may have the day off tomorrow.

I work more in 2 days than many people work in a week.

All things considered though, life is pretty good, but fuck biden, fuck the U.S. government, and fuck the rest of the world too.
