The state Senate Monday confirmed longtime commercial litigator Rowan Wilson as a judge on the state's top court.
Wilson, 56 and a Democrat, is a Harvard Law School graduate who until now was a partner in the law firm Cravath, Swaine & Moore. He is the second current member of the seven-member court who is black, the first time that has happened.
“I think Gov. Cuomo has nominated an impressive judicial nominee,” said Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman John Bonacic (R-Orange County).
His confirmation means Gov. Cuomo has now appointed all seven members on the Court of Appeals.
