Did that mean the perp was licensed to carry? How do they know, he didn't show his permit (according to the article).

Morally or ethically I don't have any problems with the shooter. I do hope there was no one else in the shop at the time. I imagine it is difficult to acquire your target after getting sprayed with mace.

S 160.00 Robbery; defined.
Robbery is forcible stealing. A person forcibly steals property and
commits robbery when, in the course of committing a larceny, he uses or
threatens the immediate use of physical force upon another person for

1. Preventing or overcoming resistance to the taking of the property
or to the retention thereof immediately after the taking; or
2. Compelling the owner of such property or another person to deliver

If more people were shot conducting burglaries,there would be less burgalaries

A person would not hesitate to go hands on with a police Person. Bring out a K9 and almost all of them will surrender before tangling with the K9 as they know they are going to get torn up.

Same thing would hold true if they were in fear of getting shot,if they thought everyone had a gun and ready to shoot back there would be less crime

So what do I say , GOOD on the worker who got a few shots off,the guy he was shooting at will think twice before trying to rob some one.

Are you suggesting we actually have to be struck with the lethal weapon he was using (hammer) prior to defending our self, or suggesting we have to use "Like Force" another hammer. I say what ever you brought is what your can use, its the burglars problem he brought a hammer to a gun fight not the poor guy in fear for his life with no form of retreat.

They should just make theft illegal and then the robberies should stop! That approach worked so well with making guns illegal in Chicago.
