Like we didn't see this coming. I tried explaining to my stoner friends that rejoiced when it became "legal" that the state will find anyway to make money off it. First it will be a license and fees to sell. Then a tax to buy. Then revenue generated from things like public highness and driving while baked .

They could make money off of it. Think if they opened a nice range somewhere with interactive targets, sold ammo, targets, and rented machine guns. Simple boring fun ranges make money so a nice state of the art range could do some good revenue.

What's the point? The state doesn't do shit to drunk drivers. I know multiple people that have at least 2 DWIs and the only jail time they did was at the time of arrest.

Can you sue her if you get hit by a drunk driver? Were you under the impression that people inclined to drive while high weren't doing so before legalization?

The whole concept is flawed.

You don't actually care what chemicals are in someone's system.

You care if their ability to operate a vehicle is impaired.

That's what the law should be and that's what you should be testing.

Someone who's ability it impaired by age or fatigue is just as dangerous as someone impaired by alcohol or drugs. So outlaw the impairment and test for that.

I learned this when we had our crash. I asked if the chick that hit us was impaired in any way. The Trooper on scene said they had three officers that were trained ti identify impaired drivers, all three agreed she was not impaired?

How many people are going to suddenly start smoking weed just because it's legal now? I doubt very many. Anyone who really wanted to right now can get it easily. I doubt much will change with the legalization. I've been in thousands of cars over the years, there are tons and tons of them that I could have got a contact buzz in just by stting in the drivers seat for 5 minutes.

I get your point but I think it kept people doing the illegal drug at home. I now see it being used on the streets and everywhere. I smell it a lot more now. The biggest increase I have noticed is smell it on the thruway especially the 190 going south of me. I smell it every time I drive now and I can tell you I certainly didn’t before. My point is there are way more people smoking weed and driving now than a year ago and they said this wouldn’t happen if they legalized it.

They are stupid and most of us with real, actual common sense know it.

I was just in Michigan last week. We met up with some friends that used to live in NY that moved out there. Was talking to them about the subject of pot use. Many accidents that were probably due to pot use, that can not be tested for. Car insurance is crazy high. High enough to offset any savings in taxes an many places.
