It doesn't matter. Looks are more important.
@meketrefe adapted a Thompson Center rifle stock to the AK it looked a lot more user friendly than the picture of the AK with the Thordson stock you posted. Maybe he will chime in and post up how to do it.
You are limited to 10 rounds for the life of the rifle.
You pop the dust cover off, remove the recoil spring, remove the bolt and bolt carrier, load your mag then put your AK back together. Or you just leave it loaded in the corner for emergencies. Fire 10 rounds, drop it, pick up another one fire 10 rounds, drop it pick up another one and repeat until you run out of bad guys or guns to pick up.

Looks are more important for show and tell and collection rifles.
Function is more important for those actually using a rifle.
The thorsten is functional in the AR because you have a buffer tube as a cheek rest, and works great.
Now, is the best we can do for the AK? NO.
The one I did with the TC stock is quite easy but will require some cutting and fitting.
I would say the slant receivers have an advantage just because you have an angle you can work wiht for support
otherwise you need to insert two bolts and some epoxy to support those bolts in the stock.
When that cures is as strong as a rock. And guess want the comb of the TC stock is just perfect for the AK, even
better than the original AK stock that might be a tad low for some complexions.

Since this I have converted another one this time in 223 and also to take AR mags but have not pics of that.
With the slant receiver like the VEPR would help and might be able to shape it.
Or if you build one consider the slant receivers for this very same reason.
The rails are extended form utgpro (made in the usa). All durakoted with some panties for pattern. Nothing too fancy.

The cheek rest is part of the buffer tube cover. How are you putting it on?
For half the money, I went with the NYLAK stock. Ugly yeah... can shoot it in NY now Yeah
