Here is an idea! Hire an NJ Lawyer that may own a shotgun that his daddy left him but has never shot or touched a pistol.

If i was him I'd be going after the DA's record. I'd want the very long list of felons and gang members they have cut plea deals with and released back to the streets. The next round of elections won't be any easier for Democratic scum.

Most likely unlawful possession of a handgun, magazine over 10 rounds and hollow points.
In NJ you can only have a handgun in your possession that is unloaded in a secure container separate from the ammo. You also must be on your way to or from an approved location.ie range gun store or gun smith. You can stop for gas or the bathroom but anything else is considered a crime. Don't ever break down in NJ and have to spend the night at a hotel. you are committing a felony 3-5 years
Magazine over 10 rounds 3-5 years plus a large fine.
Hollow points while not illegal per se are treated just like a handgun as far as transport. If you purchase them and stop for lunch on the way home even without a firearm in the car it's felony 3-5.
The DA will let this guy plead guilty suspend the jail time fine him a few thousand and strip him of his right to ever own a firearm for the rest of his life.
The bottom line is always stay out of NJ with a firearm and if you must drive through NJ don't stop except for gas and the bathroom and keep your firearms out of sight.
