Good for that group, that's a proper protest that we need to see happen everywhere. I agree entirely with the commentator as well.
There was a huge turn out at Virginia, but attendees were so concerned about being well behaved to prove gun owners are just normal people, it seemed like they forgot why they hell they were even there in the first place. The problem is gun owners don't need to prove anything.

Yea, things are a bit different down here! 
Just about the whole state is now. or soon to become 2A Sanctuary status. There are a very few counties who probably will not pass theirs, typically ones that have large Universities, etc. BUT, it amounts to very few.
ALSO, our Senate just passed a bill to prevent 'immigration sanctuary cities' in the state, it now moves on to our House for passage. We currently do not have any immigration sanctuary cities, BUT this bill is preemptive, which makes sense.
