I think I get where they are coming from, though they word it poorly and may have a questionable agenda. Crime goes up in summer months. The cold is a deterrent for activity in general (not just criminal), ie. there are way less people walking around, etc. in the winter.

Now to tie it to some type of "climate change is the oppression of XYZ" type of woke nonsense is plain stupid, but from the numbers I could see how if you were in an area that had cold weather that a warming of that weather could contribute to more crime by eliminating the "cold weather deterrent".

As a lefty in a world of right handed pistols, I can confidently assure you that hot brass causes warming on only a very local level, along with occasionally irritating minor impact.
