Israeli Bandage Stowage

I have a small toolbox on the back of my tractor that I would like to keep a real basic stop bleed kit comprising of a couple pressure bandages and a CAT. Its a rough environment, dirt, extreme temperatures, vibration, things banging around. Puncturing the wrap on the bandage is obviously not the best thing. How can I stow the bandages in the most compact way thats protected but still readily accessible?

Are you getting the 4" or the 6" model? The packaging can be a little robust, for sure, but if you're tight on space then the smaller 4 inch model might still work for you. Or, as an alternative, try to find some of the older combat dressings. Very compact compared to an Israeli, and should still be sterile if the packaging is intact

PVC pipe with end caps, solvent close one end, keep the other end snug tight or cheap plastic ammo can.

My advice would be to not rely on a plastic ammo can. They dont stand up to the abuse of the metal cans. If you need a smaller can get a small 30 caliber can instead of the 50 caliber can

If you need something smaller, use one of these, but don't screw the lid on.

Tape the lid on with some duct tape, but put a loop of wire under the tape, so you can pull it cutting the tape if you need to get in in a hurry

Also a great way to store one-piece cleaning rods. Mark the glued end around the seam to quickly tell which cap to remove.

I have numerous of both the 4" and 6" as well as a metric shit ton of the older US dressings

i got Dewey Rods .. i would need a 4 to 5 foot pvc tube to store them 7 foot for the 91/30 .. lol

I also use Dewey (coated rods). 1-1/4 PVC is s good fit for dewey handles. Each rod in its own tube. I bought the long pipe at Home Depot and cut it.

Unfortunately no. I would love a cab but they are 1/3 of the new price of the machine. I have contemplated a canopy but with the shenanigans I perform I think it would get destroyed.

You need two hands to pull the cap off PVC pipe, will be hard to do it with one hand. That's the only annoyance with that set up.

You need two hands to pull the cap off PVC pipe, will be hard to do it with one hand. That's the only annoyance with that set up.

Yes, thats why I would not go that route. I am thinking a coupler on the end of the pipe with a plastic disc that is wax sealed with an embedded string to break the seal

Just put an eye hook in the cap. Seal the threads with some PVC Cement. If you need to open it one handed you can hook it on something solid and pull.

For re-usable PVC I like to just put in a threaded drain clean out.

Have one for a powersteering fluid reservoir in my off road jeep for about 10 years now, works great.

If the pipe is secured to something, then that's one hand operable too. For a SHTF application like this I would probably add a long bolt as a handle to the threaded plug so you can open it easily.
