One thief says she stole 500,000 bullets because security was lax. For 18 months, the retailer has fought a state subpoena seeking loss-prevention records.

A couple of years ago a couple of individuals at the Cheektowaga Cabela’s filled a baby stroller with ammo and attempted to scoot out the store. If Cabela’s wasn't so busy trying to be such dick I'd feel sorry for them.

That's almost 21,000 rounds per trip.

Just doesn't add up: estimated 500,000 rounds, and a typical case of Pistol ammo is 1,000. so that's 500 cases, and divided by 24 trips would be a fraction over 20.8 cases each event...then there's the logistics of handling that much weight in a vehicle, carting it out, etc. yea, I smell bullshit here. if you changed it to cases (not bricks) of .22LR which are 5,000 you have 100 cases and divided by 24 trips are 4.16 HEAVY cases each event...SOME fucking body would have to notice, unless they were complicit and told not to.

Corporations are held responsible for the actions of their employees, especially when it comes to sensitive items for which they should have checks and balances for, this could create a real problem for corporate if it were to be determined that their negligence in securing ammunition (wonder about arms as well) and its use in crime, especially a mass or other high profile shooting...matters not the actual fault, only that someone has insurance money and the "victims" have Lawyers willing to exploit the situation.
