I can’t speak to the LCP2, only the original. What issues do you know of?I'm sorry you couldn't afford a more better quality handgun.
I don't get it either. I have a s&w j frame, and instead carry a ruger lc9s. In fact, I chose the ruger over a Sig 938 costing more than twice as much after shooting both. You don't need something expensive when something cheaper can do the job just as well, if not better.I'm sorry you couldn't afford a more better quality handgun.
I've got plenty of discretionary money to spend on a "better" quality hand gun. This one suited exactly what I needed and the trigger is nice. I will carry it once per month maybe. I don't want something with a hammer or a safety for pocket carry. So I'm not sure what you were getting at. The only negative is it's a .380 and I'd prefer a 9mm, but that's life.I'm sorry you couldn't afford a more better quality handgun.
Your friend could have had nothing but problems with any gun. No gun maker is perfect. I'll bet ruger fixed it if he sent it back. As for the lc9 I know plenty of people who love both the lcp and lc9. A friend has an lc9 and raves about it. He shoots that better than a glock 19. He sold the glock and carries the lc9. Everyone has different experiences.A friend bought one and had nothing but problems with it. He finely sent it back to Ruger. My doctor bought a lc9 , he couldn't hot the broad side of a barn with it if he was standing inside. He asked if I'd like to shoot it, I passed. I just have absolutey no interest in any of the LC series.
Now the GP, SR, MARK, SP101, BLACLHAWK, RED HAWK SERIES are what I have in my handgun collection.
I wouldn't want a lc ruger for any reason.
I did not get a holster yet. I don't have the gun yet either. What do you recommend? Here is my LCP story: Years ago I went to the gun store fully anticipating to purchase a Kahr P380. I had considered the LCP but new I wanted the Kahr. After talking with the salesman I usually deal with, I ended up with the LCP. One of the reasons being, as mentioned by others here, that it is less expensive yet still a tried and true gun. I had never heard of someone getting a bad one, however, I know it can happen with any brand, even guns that are much more expensive. The price difference left room for ammo and a holster.
The one that I purchased ran flawlessly with factory ammo and my reloads. I added the Hogue Handall Hybrid grip sleeve and painted the front sight making much more accurate and easier to shoot.
Fast forward a couple of years, I decided to trade it to the local shop to buy something else. I ended up regretting it so much that I bought another. In the process, I also considered the LCP2 but wanted to stick to what I already knew. Most do not care for the long, revolver-like trigger but I have learned to shoot well with it.
Saltwater60, I think the LCP will serve you well. Did you get a holster yet?
For a pocket holster, I agree with Calculon that Remora is great. I also like the DeSantis Nemesis. If you want leather, Lobo and Bear Creek are both top notch.I did not get a holster yet. I don't have the gun yet either. What do you recommend?
I to considered the Kharcw380, but hated it compared to the lcp. I was like yuck take this back. The salesmen also said before I even asked to see the Kahr that he would go with the lcp. He said they can't keep them on the shelf. I saved about $80-$90 going on line.
Oh snap!I'm sorry you couldn't afford a more better quality handgun.
The gun just showed up at the ffl. Did the BC no problems as expected. I looked at the gun and honestly it looks like it was shot a descent amount. The barrel is dirty, the barrel riffling has the coating warn off on the lands, and you can see the circle where the casing hit the firing pin. There was also a lot of oil in the chamber and slide. Do you guys think this is a big deal. There's no damage and I'll be shooting it so I don't really care. I was honestly just surprised to see it and want to make sure it's not signs of trouble. I would think it was shot at the factory so it should be functioning well.
Yes. I bought it from palmetto state armoryWas it supposed to be new?

This. I pay for new i want new.Without seeing pictures detailing what you mentioned, I personally would probably contact PSA about it. Maybe they accidentally sent you a used one by mistake... I get that you're going to be shooting it anyway, but you paid for new..
I’m betting that they must disclose if it’s a used firearm. Their reputation would be shot if they misrepresented used as new. I’d definitely call/email until you get an answer.
How well do you know your ffl? Any chance your ffl mixed it up with one in the shop?
Yeah that's what I was thinking about the wear. There is definitely more than a few rounds through it. I'm wondering if it was one of palmetto State armorys gun rentals that I received. It's weird through the tag on the trigger guard is still there. I've got 700 rounds through my current carry gun and there's more wear on that "new" LCP.If you see wear marks on it thats not right.. Not normal for new. If possible wait on registering it and call the seller.
Ruger has the best CS so if it doesnt work they will fix it fast.
