If the law saying we can have ones produced after 1986( I think that’s the date) is repealed or found unconstitutional then this would change.
The simple is "Yes, We have a Right to own a Machine-gun, Tank, or even a Howitzer so long as certain Laws, Taxes, and Applications are observed."
The NFA was a crock of shit sold as crime control over Gangsters that may have been using them to commit major crimes, and to protect the asses of those Government that should have had them shot off...then you have the Movies portraying people unnaturally, with the propaganda solution to these concocted activities being the outlawing of certain weapons, devices, knives, et.al. and people being gullible and believing totally that Government would never lie,misrepresent, or be untrustworthy went along with the solutions presented without question.
IF you ban the gun, no one will be able to acquire one illegally and won't use it to commit the Crime they were intending on using it for...yea, I don't think so.

Unfortunately this never translates into any pro-gun gains in NY. I am glad I have the right to own a machine gun on theory. In real world I can't even buy semi-auto without holding a permit and all of the risks that come with having a permit.
