KSG Shotgun owners - Tips and Advice ?

I love my KSG.

So glad I bought one at, what I guess, was an all-time low of $650.

It helps me sleep at night.

Tell me what you love - or hate - about yours ?

And what accessories I must buy !

BTW, unlike the pic, mine has no sights.

When I had one the rear magazine selection knob use to loosen. I put a little loctite on that and it remedied the problem.

Also the first models (don’t know if it changed) used to have a plastic rail for the pistol grip that used to break. The teeth wouldn’t hold up to constant abuse from the pistol grip being held on by 1 or 2 plastic teeth. I remedied that by putting a rail riser on the whole rail and then the pistol grip on the rail riser. That way the force is distributed between all ten or so plastic teeth rather than just 1 or 2 depending on the grip you get.

Enjoy. It’s a good gun and reliable. I never had a problem with it.

A buddy has one and bragged about it , we went out shooting and he said" here you gotta try this" Loaded it up and pulled the trigger and nothing happened. It never fired again that day he now has it fixed and won't let me touch it!

I've got a brand new one. Bought 5 years ago, still haven't shot it. Nome the less I just ordered a KS7. I did order a few parts for the KSG I'll start dressing it up when those come in.

I had a gen 1, sold it and got a gen 2.
I've used it in training, so it's seen it's fair share of abuse and hard knocks.
Has been reliable as any pump I've carried.
I visited Hi tech and their accessories are top notch.
I added the Hi Tech extended tube selector and muzzle brake.
I also put a limbsaver slip on recoil pad, ARMR2 on the fore stock(which took a lot of work and the use of a heat gun) and a set of flip up BUIS so I could shoot slugs accurately, which it does.
It's a heavy beast when fully loaded, so I didn't get the top rail shell holder.
Here's a pic of it next to my black aces other firearm, with an added heat shield and velcro shell holder.

I picked mine up in March, pure luck since most local shops were sold out or closed by FUAC. Naked guns are simply not done, so of course I had to make mine the belle of the ball.
HiTech Striker hand guard, Defender muzzle brake. Most of all, their extended tube selector! That just works...
Overboard on sights. Those are Magpul pop ups (back up sights, you know - just in case). Bushnell AR Red dot is super solid and reliable, and for worst case home defence scenario, a Crimson Trace forward of the hand guard.
So far it has been totally reliable. For a whole lot of fun, it cycles shorty rounds. I've put Aguila shot, buckshot, and Federal slugs through it with no issues.
HiTech even sent me a stick on seven shell carrier that I'm thinking about putting on the stock.

Headed over to Target Sports, and attempted to buy some 12Ga Ammo.

Sadly, everything was OOS.

Everything except the PERFECT Home Defense ammo for the KSG.



If you are looking to take out a MOOSE at 100 yards - NO.

But an ANTIFA Pajama-Boy at 20 feet - oh yeah.

And the KSG accepts a load of 25 of these !

I loaded my KSG with some nice A-ZOOM Snap Caps, and was experiencing misfeeds galore.

I was disapointed and angry.

Then I figured out that it simply needed to be pumped QUICKLY !

With a quick and definitive pump it works great.

Who knew ?

I didn’t mean that as a joke. I too had snap caps only about 3 and it did the same thing.
