I doubt much change outside of the testing and measurement will occur. They will likely not retool their lines because by the time that is complete a communist could be back in office and require it again. I doubt they will do the flip flop
even if they "dropped" everything, it takes a LOT of money and time to re-engineer engines and computer systems.

Thought this was a link to a Def Leppard documentary. Nothing to add. Except that I’m slightly disappointed. I miss the 80s. 
Taking the DEF system off and reprogramming the ECU are already possible. I've driven a couple trucks with it done. One had a Cummins ISX the other was a Paccar 13 liter. They run so much better. Some states you can get away with it. Some you can't.
"Deletes" are popular with Diesel Pickup Truck owners, but I don't see a Fleet Operator pulling stuff off, maybe a small Fleet might as they tend to run their Trucks longer and perform their own maintenance.
Manufacturers aren't likely to delete without waiting a little while and figuring a rock solid plan for both their product and any associated liabilities that could come along.

Correct been there done that. Still takes time and money. I don’t see them doing anything unless this sticks around for years and years. I don’t think a Republican will be in the whitehouse next round. I hope I’m wrong and I’d love to see JP Vance in there.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the DEF system wasn't about green house gasses, it's about particulate emissions and smog.
