Looking for a gun club within an hour or so from Rockland

Over the past few months, I've really ramped up my gun collection and a passion for shooting sports... My question is does anyone know of any gun clubs that are accepting new members and isn't more than an hour away from Rockland county?

I've easily spent 300 to 500 bucks just going to my local range, though nice I feel like that money would be better spent towards a membership to a gun club, were I can enjoy shooting with like minded people and be part of a group...

If anyone knows of any clubs in the area, please let me know, I greatly appreciate any insight or information you all may have..

BlackRock and Monroe-Chester in Orange County both good clubs not sure what wait list is...

I agree with cgrutt. MCSC is expensive, but a quality club. I don't know about the membership fees for Black Rock, but it is also a well run club.

MCSC is expensive but it has an indoor pistol range you can shoot 24/7 - 366

Blackrock is also expensive. No indoor pistol range (Monroe-Chester's pistol range is awesome) but a ton of property, pavillion for summer events, great clubhouse with fireplace and bar, 200 yrd rifle, three (I think) pistol ranges, trap and archery ranges. Backs up to thousands of acres that are closed for hunting season to non-members and a separate property for pheasant. Great with kids. Great club.

Pearl River has a private gun club. Indoor pistol and rifle caliber only. I’ve been a member for many years.

This is where I've been going, I enjoy the people there, and give them most of my range business. However their membership prices are very high and you still need to pay per range visit. Which can add up to quite alot of money even shooting every 2 weeks... I'm looking into mcsc right now and BlackRock who I do casually know a member of has a long wait list and prioritizes Orange County residents and sponsored applicants first when I first asked him his opinion after I learned of it on here he explained it to me...

Sorry I thought you meant Rise, unfortunately I dont know any members and it seems that you must know someone to be considered. Which I fully understand. But makes it kinda hard when you don't come from a Gun friendly social group, I'm literally the only one in my family and my wife's family that is PGR and 2A... and most of my friends would see sling shots outlawed if they could not even joking
If I have to drive 2 hours and spend the night in a hotel to enjoy a couple days of shooting and conversation I would... NY really sucks in this regard... Thanks for the info though, maybe I can make nice with a member one day hahaha

You don’t need to know anyone in the club to join, but it makes it easier. Plus you know me now.

Oh ok, the website said something of needing to be sponsored by a member in good standing with the club for 2 years... that would be ideal as I'm a rock rocklander and PR is only 15 minutes away... I'll fill out the online request form and see what happens.
