The classification of the Shockwave which is deemed by the ATF as a "Firearm" is administratively banned by NYC.
Just like how the AR platform, SKS, and FN-FAL is, among many others. The list is nonsensical and seems like things are arbitrarily selected.
I am a NYC resident and I have a Rifle/Shotgun permit. If I could have one, I would.

OP, there are many firearms that NYC (5 boroughs) residents can't possess, where the rest of NYS can.
NYC has their own set of rules. And because you need to register your firearms with NYPD. They will not let you register/possess anything that is banned in NYC.
Because of the length. shockwave has a 14" barrel.
Additionally, NYC does not allow a "rifle or shotgun" to have a capacity of more than 5 rounds. tube feed or magazine. Therefore, not every shotgun is going to be legal in NYC.
As I said before, there are firearms that we can own in NYS, but you can't in NYC.

Copy that. Where can i find a list of communist shotguns approved by dictator NYPD? i've searched and cant find any list..
Anything that doesn't have more than 5 round capacity, no pistol grip, no foregrip, no shockwaves, and pretty sure no bullpups like the Keltec KS7. The KSG is definitely no good due to the dual tubes.
DP-12 is also a no go.
Mossbergs cruisers are no good.
Saiga 12 is no go.
Any AR style semi auto shottie is no good.
Pretty much you can get:
Mossberg 500 series
Mossberg Maverick
Mossberg HS12
Mossberg semi autos with sporter stocks like the 930 SPX tactical
Remington 870
Beretta 1301 (with limited mag tube)
Benelli m1, m2, m3, and Supernova. Not sure if they make an m4 without a pistol grip
Weatherby pump actions or semi autos (following NYC guidelines, stated above)
