Interested in picking one up. What do I need to look for? I know the newer commercial built units are kinda junk besides for the Fulton armory but I don't have $1700 too spend either as much as I would like too. Are there any differences between the USGI manufacturers etc?

I have been hunting one for a while, a mil issue only.
Commercial productions can be had on the cheap.
Bayo lug is a problem with most, there aren't to many issued without and I don't want to bubba a piece of history to satisfy monkey face.
Registration is possible but not something I believe in. Most I have seen that I deemed worthy were in the 1K+ range.

Any of the USGI will be good quality (or were good quality once). The prices are bananas and only going up. Most that you will find will likely be rebuilt with mixed parts, or the prices will be even higher. I'm not aware of any substandard or performance differences between USGI manufacturers.

There were some knock-offs that were not interchangeable with the USGI rifles. They don't have a good reputation. The new Auto-Ordinance rifles are supposed to be good quality.

They're fun guns. Get one while you can.
