Well being half way through his sentence he wasn't learning too much. The word I got he was assaulting , biting other officers before they corrected his behavior sending him to his first hospital visit, then for some reason he was unloaded to the wrong Marcy prison before repeating his ways.

Originally the word around these parts is he assaulted a C.O., and has done so many times during his incarceration.
Standard procedure after the inmate has been subdued by the intervention team is a medical evaluation, which he continued to resist C.O.s.
They decided to enforce FOFA on him, unfortunately to an extreme.

I'm unsure of where Hochul wants the riots to take place. Marcy doesn't have much of a downtown to burn so it wont look good on camera. I think Antifa will have to look to destroy Utica or Rome.

Beatdowns are not uncommon.................my brother worked there as a Social Worker/Psychlogist..got beat up by prisoner/patients half a dozen times...........reports filed with DA........ and no actions taken except by Guards............

Back in the day, on a Commercial Ambulance rig, I had plenty of scrums with unruly psycho cases being committed...........cops, me,and perp..............no one died.

This wasn't a one time event, this was business as usual and they weren't worried about getting caught at all.

If he hadn't died, this would have just been "injured while resisting" or some such and nobody would have ever even looked at the video or believed a thing the inmate said.

One medical professional who watched the videos suggested they might have broken his neck when they picked up up by the neck/collar (after the beating), causing near-immediate paralysis, including respiratory paralysis. I certainly noticed that he was unusually limp the second they picked him up, with his head swinging way back.

Just speculation, though.

My 2¢: while I understand and am sympathetic to the positions that some have stated here (that the courts and DAs and whatnot are often negligent on following up on incidents of inmate-on-worker violence, leaving the guards as the last resort), I cannot condone this kind of behavior, at all. As several have pointed out, it is clear that this isn't a one-time, exceptional case... this is business as usual. And that needs to stop. Immediately. Abuse of authority like we have seen here needs to be one of the highest crimes we have, and responded to accordingly.
