My first inclination is "No way!!!". But I read it, and he makes a whole lotta sense. I don't know what else he's said or done over the years, and I suppose I might not agree with many or any of those positions, but this time he is on the money.

Whalberg is awesome. He's done a ton of work for vets over the years, and has always been on the conservative side. He did an amazing job protraying Marcus Luttrell in Lone Survivor.

Here's a good interview he did a few years ago, he was lambasting the Hollywood elites back then too:

The ex-leader of the Funky Bunch, Marky Mark had some pretty strong words for Charlton Heston. At the 2000 MTV Movie Awards, Wahlberg suggested on stage that the “Best Villain” award be given to Heston: “I believe Charlton Heston is America’s best villain because he loves guns so much. Maybe he should get the award for being president of the National Rifle Association.” But his anti-gun attitude didn’t stop there. “Well, I would love it if they could take all the guns away. Unfortunately, you can’t do that so you hope that good people in the world have them to protect the people who can’t protect themselves,” he said in an April 26, 2007, edition of the Herald Sun. “Certainly, I haven’t used a gun anywhere other than on a movie set and I’d like to see if we could take them all away. It would be a beautiful thing.”

I commented the bejeebers out of this article on a different forum and got pooh-poohed. He's just another Hollywierd hypocrite . His anti-gun rants are legendary. He's made most of his money shooting guns and blowing stuff up on screen and yet is out there pushing for gun bans for his movie goers. His new message might resonate to the right, but his history makes him a foe of 2A supporters and gun enthusiasts and thus another Hollywood POS.

Wahlbergs most recent rant is very logical and well received by anyone with a brain.


However he is still on record multiple times as an anti 2a celebrity.

The difference with marky Mark and other idiot celebs, he may share some of their idealogy but he has more common sense than they do and realised he is merely there for our entertainment.

He's probably more of a regular decent guy who just has liberal views and is anti gun. He doesn't come off as one of these self centered unhinged whackjobs with and unrealistically large opinion on their self importance in the world.

Meh, Marky Mark's 2A views are probably grounded in the fact that he's thankful the South Vietnamese Vet he beat down in 1988 wasn't carrying concealed...otherwise he might never have seen his rise to hollywood stardom.
