If the world went to shit tomorrow, the first thing I'd do is go out and buy a fuck ton of peanut butter and nuts / anything dried, and vacuum seal it.

Trail mix works because it's calorically dense and lasts a significant time. It always surprises me when I weigh out one serving of mixed nuts. On avg you're talking 180 calories or what is a handful of nuts, not even. It seems like nothing. It won't fill you up, but it will keep you going. You'll be hungry, but moving.
