For what we're spending on the new place I could have bought one of the old Titan Missile silos near by.
Wouldn't have been able to afford to renovate it enough to live in unfortunately, and never would have been able to talk the wife into it.
But a place that was designed to survive a near hit by an ICBM and then keep a full crew comfortable for a month in a total apocalypse has a lot of appeal.
This place is not too far from us, and there were some other silos in the same complex that came up for sale not too long ago.
