Either jail them for driving without it.So, revoking their DL will keep them from driving? How many news article have you read about people being ticketed multiple times for driving on a revoked DL? These people don't give a frick; they will never be put in jail, in NY, for driving on a suspended/revoked license. They know this, so it's a non-issue. Hell, you guys don't put people in jail for armed robbery! Maybe, just maybe, seizing the vehicle with very heavy fines to retrieve it might make a difference, but NY does not have the stomach for that....disproportionatley affects the poor and minority drivers.
My truck identifies as a low flying aircraft. My defense? "But officer, going 85 mph softens the bumps and limits the damage to my truck going over the potholes the asswipes in Albany neglected to repair".
Limits don’t matter when the enforcement is restrained. Laws follow the same proof of concept.Could just lower the speed limit 5 mph.

Top law-enforcement officials are calling the Albany proposal the “most dangerous” and “craziest” bill they have ever seen, warning it would limit cops’ ability to conduct routine traffic sto…nypost.com
The new law states that if you drive 10 miles over the speed limit (and get caught speeding), then the WA government authorities will install a device on your car to control your speed..
Just in case you think this is science fiction, it just happened in Washington
The next day I uninstall it.The next day, I trade the car in![]()

Of course not. Cops have "SPECIAL TRAINING" that allows them to browse on a computer while driving at a high rate of speed and using their lights to run red lights as they rush to the coffee shop.so all cop cars will be fitted with this device
Meh, if they stop and think about this they will realize all the money they will lose from the revenuers writing speeding tickets.
I wonder what their plan is for cars that are not OBD2?Just in case you think this is science fiction, it just happened in Washington
