So with all of the bullshit of the fallout from Trump being elected, there have been some stories that have flown under the radar.
Not only did Trump set history by beating some ass, various positions around the country were won by someone other than an old white guy.

Kamala Harris, female/black/Indian, California Senator
Ilhan Omar, female/Somali/Muslim/immigrant, Minnesota District 60B

Pramila Jayapal, female/Indian/immigrant, House of Rep
I think this is actually great for the nation. I think if this country is going to move forward and get over things like sexism, bigotry, racism, xenophobia, and whatever else, we need more of a diverse leadership. Some may agree that the "old regime" are pretty set in their ways and how they vote. They're unwilling to pass simple things like legalization of marijuana, and are generally close-minded on issues like gay marriage. As more of these younger, more diverse people get elected, I think we'll start seeing some change in this country, and we can move on and tackle bigger issues.
I hope these people really do a good job and I wish them luck.
