New to Buffalo by way of MI

Hello all. I recently moved to North Buffalo from the Merto Detroit area. I'm semi retired from a corrections job and now work at Cabela's in the ammo department. Before anyone asks, I followed my girlfriend here. I had a pistol permit in MI and I'm in the middle of applying for my unrestricted permit here. I'm in Erie County so it will only be another year and a half or so.

Welcome to the Buffalo area. I was just working in Ann Arbor last week. Michigan is an outdoorsman's dream. I have a couple of friends who work at Cabela's, watch out for grumpy old guys with grey hair.......................

I frequent the ammo boutique at Cabela's right after the sales paper gets published.:rolleyes:

Sorry to hear of your being sentenced to NYS! Erie county no less. You Sir are going to have quite the wait for your PP, and then it willing probably come with restrictions.

Thanks for the condolences. My coworkers seem to think I have a decent shot at an unrestricted permit. Only time will tell, I guess. Only a year and a half until I find out.

I have some Friends up there who received their un-restricted PP in Erie County.

Now that I think of it, UN-RESTRICTED PERMIT sounds like an oxymoron. Sort of like jumbo shrimp. :ROFL:

I may see you at cabelas as well I'm in there from time to time.

I just recently got my Erie county unrestricted and it took a shade less than 1 year. Get going on it and don't wait, it may be less waiting than you initially feared. (yes I realize it's pathetic when I say a year isn't as bad as it could be)


But anyway welcome to the board!

Welcome! Erie has been issuing quite a bit of unrestricted permits the last few years. Now they recommend a training class if applying for unrestricted. I don't know if they are making that a requirement or not, but it sounds like if you take the class you'll most likely get no restrictions.

Well if you like to eat, you came to the right place. We have some outstanding Ethnic foods.I found a little French place the other day and stopped in to try it, Well to my surprise the guy from France! Could barely understand him,Kind of like Dr evil. (Heh, heh) I never had any real French food before, Holy shit, it was awesome. Great Italian places, Greek , Polish German, Mexican, Asian places if you like that stuff Cant speak to how good they are . Lots of pizza places , hit and miss . But hardy no chain pizzas in the city , they cannot hold their own with the real deal. oh yeah ,good wings too.

I do like to eat. I've definitely tried my share of wings here. My girlfriend has lived here for 10 years, so she had an idea of the places to go. The best traditional wings I've had was at the Bar Bill in East Arora. I think they had the best beef on Weck as well. I like La Nova for pizza, but usually end up getting Franco's because it's close. Honestly, other than the wings and Weck, the food situation is about the same as the metro Detroit area. I will say that Buffalo could step up its Coney Island hotdog game. Also, and advice on where to get a good,cheap, greasy slider?
