Yeah we`re pretty much sittin ducks at this point. Until the people get off their duff`s, it isn`t going to get any better. But on that same token, if it gets alot worse, then the people will have to rise. But we`re not there yet. (who`s to say we ever will be anyway, i`m very old, likely won`t see it) To many still don`t vote (if that even works anymore), to many still have their heads in the sand, to comfortable to fight, or even care. Look how fast this country has changed, and surely not for the better. Its gonna take hard people to go through hard times, to straighten this mess up.

I wrote to GOA 3 times asking if they considered defending us in NYC against this 600.00 per year hand gun license fee. Judge Kavanaugh mentioned in passing that no fee should be charged for a constutional right. To register a car is about 150.00 for A couple if years andvthats a "privledge". So there's no justification except for obstruction to have a 600.00 per year fee for a pistol permit. I still havent heard back from GOA.

I don't believe so? I think he said the opposite unless I misunderstood. But either way charging for a "right" is then not a right. Why not charge for every right? Those that can afford to pay the fees forced on us can enjoy those rights and those that can't will be punished if we get caught using them. The only reason for the outrageous fee for a yearly pistol permit is to make it unaffordable and unsustainable. I know that you know that and I'm preaching to the choir.

Agreed, people won't stand up, rise up, until things get bad, really bad. And you're right too about people still being comfortable. Sure, prices on essentials have gone up, up substantially percentage wise. But with few exceptions, low income folks get enough "aid" to get adequate food, shelter, clothing, medical care, etc. The well off have the coin to fend for themselves. And the middle class although getting slapped pretty good, are getting by. Though some belt tightening has been necessary for many if not most in the middle (me). All in all, with some exceptions, we're still a fat, dumb, and happy people. But I have no doubt that eventually, at some point, the excrement will hit the rotating oscillator and things will get interesting, likely to some degree of ugly. I'll be 73 yrs in a couple of months so I might be around for the fall out, or maybe not. My main concern is for my kid and the grand kids. And of course, the country as a whole.

Willy, you an i are about the same age, and pretty much on the same page of opinion(s). We came from a proud working class of people. Nuff said, we both know what its going to take to fix the biggest problems in this country. Problem is, there aren`t enough people like you an me left, to fix it. We can only just skate through this life and hope the younger folk finish fixing this country, because god knows, people like you an i have tried, we just didnt have enough people around us, that cared enough to listen to what we were saying for decades. The youngsters will have to work very hard, if they want to survive and still have a country. Its still our job to teach them what freedom means, until we are gone. Things will get real messy. And i don`t think we are that far out from it. As flammable as it is today, its downright a very scary time, because these tyrant fools are holding the matches.

The reason why they haven’t taken it up is that there have been previous cases on the fee. And it was a loss. Could they win, sure but is it worth the resources that could be used on cases that mean more to the National discourse.
I wonder if they would take up the 5 round limit on long guns in NYC. Thr 2nd circuit already ruled on 10 rounds

I would like to educate myself about this in more detail. When you can, would you be able to post a couple of links to these cases? I would like to know more about them.

I'm just going to be a pain in the butt to the GOA. I'll send a couple of more emails and then just call them on my day off until I get some kind of answer.

SCOTUS CAN, go after these unconstitutional judges and remove them, but it has to go through congress, then the president has to sign off on it. With the ice cream cone king, Mr Shitzhispants in the WH, its not going to happen, and the SCOTUS KNOW`s it.

It may be moot, it may be an exercise in futility, but if they don't, at the very least, start the process by submitting these unConstitutional judges PUBLICLY for review and punishment, then everyone will just assume SCOTUS has no teeth. This will further erode what little respect people may confer upon SCOTUS, and further undermine justice in this Country.
Sometimes you still have to do your part, even if the outcome if a foregone conclusion. It tells people that YOU, at least, still have honor.
