let's see what springs up on the government' controlled news media as for arrests because of none compliance with the all powerful FUKH
That is exactly how NYS police told me they are interpreting it when I asked the law-guns number. If it's not soft body armor, it's A-OK.
Does not matter. The text of the law is clear.Who did you call Troop L?
I looked into how NYS police is interpreting the new laws. Namely, body armor was on my list. After some calls, NYS police told me they are interpreting the law as a ban on soft body armor only. Hard plates (ceramic and steel) are still permitted, and not restricted. Any armor not rated is also not restricted according to them. It only applies to Level 1 or higher soft (only) body armor.
No. The law guns hotline for the safe act that NYS police is manning.Who did you call Troop L?
The definition says 7 layers. So you can have a 3A vest as long as they make it in 6 layers or less ?
Interesting.
Only of some cop decides to be a massive dick about it.Motorcyclist might have a problem. Certain protective jackets and chaps have Kevlar pads that may or may not meet that standard.
It’s a reach but it’s the selling- not possession of such stuff. It’s more of the motorcycle shops that it could effect.Only of some cop decides to be a massive dick about it.
It's also unlikely that those jackets meet the second part of the test (the ballistic requirement to stop a 38.)
Imagine the court case where you have to shoot your jacket to prove it isn't bullet proof.
Do they need to buy a new jacket after you prove it wasn't bullet proof ?
Wouldn't the prosecutor have to shoot it to prove it was ?
Be pretty hard to sell to a jury that a blanket is a vest. It’s a reach but it’s the selling- not possession of such stuff. It’s more of the motorcycle shops that it could effect.
But it could effect ballistic blankets that people get for backstop protection or sprawl liners.
It’s not a jury I worry about . It’s an overzealous political prosecutorBe pretty hard to sell to a jury that a blanket is a vest.
But I suppose if they can call a bee a fish in CA anything's possible.

#CRIMINALSDON'TOBEYANYLAWSSTUPIDLooks like the idiots in the local press and in Albany are aware of their ineptitude in crafting this legislation.
WTF? Huh?
