If they push me and piss me off enough I’ll find a way to burn shit and produce my carbon anyway. I’m normally very level headed, but if you push me enough I’m a Vindictive bastard and I’ll get even one way or another.
I just put a patio in and I won’t stop having backyard fires. I have land and I’ll produce my own firewood if need be. Farmers burn a lot of wood when they clear land or trim trees.

My wife just heard about this somewhere, and is kind of angry about it. There are only 3 things she still wants to do to this house, and a wood stove is one of them. She is putting pressure on me now, to move out of NY.

Not being rude so don’t take this as that please. This is not an outright ban on burning wood, but it gives them powers to regulate carbon emissions essentially open endidly. They can and will be able to essentially do as they see fit to meet the carbon emissions goals in NYS.Apparently, there will be no ban in effect. See the below article for details.

There’s a large greenhouse by me that uses chipped wood as heat and they use that for a reason, it’s cheaper.
However, Haley Viccaro, a DEC spokesperson, says that 40% decrease in wood consumption is driven by building and device efficiency and increases in electrification of primary heating across all fuel types over time.
"Additionally, the analysis remains consistent across scenarios as to the contribution of remaining high-efficiency, low-emissions wood burning (for example, wood use for primary and secondary heating or industrial use) as well as some recreational wood combustion," Viccaro said.
In layman's terms, the plan right now does not include any recommendations specifically about wood burning. Viccaro wants to make it clear, the state is not considering legislation that would ban heating your home with firewood.

Already read another article about the city going after woodstoves in the Adk and North Country. This whole thing is just the beginning, they may not do anything this year but it is coming unless NYC falls in the next election.

Then I followed my nose to the defendant's residence where I could observe soft grey smoke wafting from his chimney. At that point, I called for backup. The SWAT Team arrived and we surrounded the house. This led to a standoff and finally the suspect and his family surrendered. We dosed the fire with water and saved "MOTHER EARTH".

The suspect and his family would not surrender. The suspects door was broken down upon our entering. We shot the families 2 dogs and then all hell broke loose. We were fired upon multiple times. Four militarized policemen (aka SWAT), lost their lives in the retreat. We called for more back up as the frailly held defensive positions. The county sheriff did not respond. He was busy cleaning off shoe polish. More SWAT agents were fired upon during our second advance. Several more wounded agents forced us a second retreat. In the aftermath, the entire family was consumed by a fire sparked off by agents trying to gain the upper hand in entering the residence. The tree of liberty was finally watered with blood that evening.
All for a family who just wanted to heat their home AND BE LEFT ALONE.
