Anyone else get a letter from NRA saying that andy is going after every bank and insurance company that does business w/ NRA? They are asking for ''emergency'' donations............ ''Shooting ranges and hunting clubs across the country that depend on NRA for their insurance needs will be shuttered and sold.''

If Wayne wants a new yacht, why doesn't he just ask ?

Actually I just scan the monthly mag, paid life member dues years ago, I NEVER open their envelopes or answer their phone calls.

The NRA needs to learn how to do more with less like the GOA and SAF do.

My club applied for a NRA construction grant and got a check for $5,000.00 for range improvements.

What I will say is that the shooting range my kids go to is the only youth shooting club around and they could not run this program without the nra grants. They bought them 10 PCP air riffles and 10 ruger 10/22’s. Bought shooting mats for prone, ammo, and targets. I know the nra is the nra, but I have the $35 at cabelas to get a $25 cabelas gift card this weekend.

Say what you want but they do some good. If nothing else all winter my kids shoot every other Friday for 2-2.5 hours for $6.00.

Fight for gun Rights all throughout the United States, or be a gun club and gun safety advocate.

My issue with the NRA is not the great work they do for gun clubs or shooting groups; my issue is the lack of fight for Gun Rights and the 2A in every city, town and State. They have proven time after time that they care little for the 2A as written.

Maybe they should get out of the fight and stick to clubs, groups and the Fudds of America.

If you have 100 members in that club its 50 bucks a piece for that hardware.

Same guys probably paid NRA at minimum 3500 in dues that same year. Likely more.

They turned themselves into a business. If a state is not profitable they won't spend as much fighting in it. That's not what true advocacy is about. They should spend money fighting in the worst states using funds from that state and other states. I understand they cannot operate at a loss or else they will cease to exist, but when someone like Wayne LaPierre makes as much money as he does, and then they cry poverty it's ridiculous.

You don’t have to be a member to shoot there for the youth program. None of us are members it’s too far away for me to go and shoot there or I’d gladly join.

There’s more to the grant than the guns and the pcp air riffles are $500-$600 each with the sights so your over the $5K right there.

Again I agree I’m not a huge fan of the NRA that’s why I wait for the 2A weekend at Cabelas to join. It ends up costing me $10.

I’m doing the ROI and for me it works. Closest gun range to me is $18 per hour for three people that’s $54/hour times 2.5 is $135.00 plus ammo and targets. I have to pay $6.00 and probably an extra $5.00 in gas. I give the range at the youth program $20 most times since they loose money every week. I pay the NRA $10/year. Like I said for me it works and I don’t even have to be an NRA member for the kids to be a member of the youth program.

If we don’t encourage youth to get into hunting and fishing we won’t have any guns. To me this is one good way to do so.
