NY State Parks

I plan on camping and hiking a bit at state parks this summer. From a few quick Google searches I think I found my answer but I thought I'd ask here anyways. Is it legal to Conceal carry/ being is possession of a firearm (pistol) in state parks. I read through some other forums that were a little dated and the state parks rules and regs. Seems like the answer is that it is illegal.

(p)
Firearms and weapons.
(1) Notwithstanding the provisions of paragraph (2) of this subdivi

sion, no person, other than a member of a Federal, State or municipal law
enforcement agency, shall introduce or possess, either upon the person
or within a vehicle, or use any firearm or any instrument or weapon the
propelling force of which is a spring, rubber or air or any ammunition or
propellant therefor, or a bow and arrow, except for hunting where per mitted
by a rule or regulation of a regional park, recreation and historic
preservation commission or pursuant to a permit issued according to the
provisions of section 376.1(r)* of this Title.
(2) Any person employed by a private security firm which has
contracted with the office or with a lessee or licensee of the office for
services on property under the jurisdiction, custody and control of the
office shall be permitted, with the approval of the office, to carry a firearm
supplied by his or her employer in the course of his or her employment
on such property, provided that such person is licensed pursuant to section 400.00
of the Penal Law and meets such minimum qualifications as

Thats right, those parks that you so generously fund whether you like them or not whether you want to or not, are not part of Constitutionally protected America anymore. The police state has spoken and if you happen to be a policeman, even off duty, of course you are good to go. See how that works out, ain't it grand?!?!?!?

Yeah, but you miss the part where the barely used Swat division of the NYS Park Police get to use their anti-terrorism training skills by calling out an APB using all that leftover Obama military surplus on your ass! Add in the DEP, EPA and a few other acronym headline hungry agencies that wanna justify their existence or budget and you got a full blown powder keg of police action to separate you from your little pea shooter! X-ray scanners coming to a State Park near you...

Can't understand all the worry about these silly little NYS laws that seem to get people all worrying. As long as you (anyone, not "you") are only breaking that "one" law, there's not a chance in hell it's going to go anywhere. Have an oz of pot on you, go snapping off a few rounds from your HP rifle, or some other stupid shit, and that bulk of your hip will justify the entire bad day you'll have when caught. I see absolutely no justification for a search while walking and doing nothing other than possessing while on State property that would survive a court battle. But they have everyone right where they want them when you stutter and tremble to check and see if you can breathe first, only by permission! They want state residents peeing their pants, scared to do anything without a permit, without permission... Fuck them! When was the last time you (anyone) were stopped and searched walking around a State park? People worry too damned much about all this BS! Lol...

That was going to be my question on this thread: Does anyone actually know someone, anyone, who was arrested/fined/cited for carrying concealed in a NY state park? If so, why were they searched?

Most people don't commit crimes that require searches of their person in state parks so that number is extremely low or damned near zero.

I might or might not bring my gun to state parks. Never An issue. If you follow all the rules you can’t bring it anywhere. Even local parks have a no gun rule.

I never see a sign.. hell where I usually go there isn't even an attendant. (or working bathrooms)

Its a stupid law, an unconstitutional law, but the police state knows that funded by your tax dollars they can litigate til the last tax payer dies, while you will go bankrupt defending your legitimate God given right.
Getting caught is not the point, the FACT that the law exists at all, is.

Besides a fine, Notification to your licensing officer could result in a verbal reprimand (tongue lashing), suspension to a license being revoked! I don't say do it or not to do it! You know the risk and you and only you can make that choice.

And CCW revocation can/will lead to removal of all firearms.
