I did not think that this would actually be the case, but it appears that the NYPD is now complicit in obstructing United States immigration laws, at least where reporting illegal aliens involved in criminal activities is concerned.

It would appear that as long as there is some "immigration issue" involved, criminals can avoid being appropriately booked and identified.
I find this disconcerting and I hope that this is due to the politics of Leftist demagogues in the upper echelon of the NYPD and not the rank-and-file officers that actually do their jobs and put themselves at risk on a daily basis.

At 6 p.m., more than 100 protesters had gathered again outside Trump Tower. Meanwhile hundreds were gathering for an evening protest at Foley Square.
Some of the arrested durng the day are DACA recipients; the NYPD says the protesters arrested outside Trump Tower won't have to be fingerprinted if they provide their information willingly -- no fingerprints means no arrest information transmitted to Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
