P365 Owner Needs Help

If anyone has a P365 could you help me out. I took my striker out for cleaning and reassembled. After I do this I always do a test to see if the striker is functioning normally by putting a Bic pen in the barrel and pulling the trigger. When I do this the pen barely moves. I am used to doing this with Glocks, where the pen is launched out of the barrel and flys basically across the room. Does your P365 do the same or does it launch out with force? Can you give it a try and let me know?

Don’t know for sure but should have more force than that. See if there’s a video online. A lot of guys do this.

I’d be interested in your impressions of this gun. I think it’s my next purchase. Maybe very soon. I’m turning forty in a few weeks. I planned to buy a fancy gun but I dont think I will. The 365 ticks a lot of boxes for me.

I have never heard of any nonsense with using Bic pens to check for operability. I use live rounds. I keep a bucket of sand in my bedroom and fire into it. If it fires, it’s good to go.

I like it so far. I've got 250 rounds through it. It is heavier than you'd expect and the quality is pretty good. I have trouble with my hand size interfering with the slide release so I have to hold it funny in order to get the slide to lock back on an empty mag. I also noticed that the polymer scratches easy. You can mark it just with your fingernail. Not the end of the world but something to keep in mind. I have a TLR6 attached to mine. I thought it was going to be my #1 carry gun, but decided to only carry it when I needed to be super discrete or when wearing shorts and a t-shirt on a hot day. Overall I'm glad I got it, but it's not as great as I thought it would be. I prefer a larger gun. I will continue to carry a Glock most of the time.

I have the same problem with the slide lock/release (XL here), also happens on my M&P Shield. I keep trying to change my grip in practice.. I haven't noticed the polymer scratching yet but I plan to get an aftermarket one soon (would love if Wilson Combat released one to go along with the P320 grip modules).

OP: Sorry I can't help, I haven't taken my 365XL apart that far yet. Never tried the pen trick, I have snap caps if I really wanted to test.

Suit, yes, one seat, and no, I absolutely refuse to work on the train - it is (was) one of my only respites from work / home.

Interesting. I tried it with a pencil with no eraser and it fired it right out of the barrel. That got me wondering because it is about the same weight as the pen. Then I noticed the end of the pen has a hole in it from the striker. LOL. I guess we are all good here!

Good to hear.

PS - wife's gun..... I'm not gonna tell her I used it for this test. Just between the 3,000 or so of us.
