This is what bureaucracies do. I see it even at work over trivial decisions. If we can get enough sign off from enough people, should the project go sideways nobody has to singularly take the blame.

Though police officers since Columbine have been trained to immediately confront the killer, some Broward deputies at the Parkland massacre would later struggle to recall when they last had active shooter training or details of what they learned.

How did so many fuck up so badly? Does it take training to know that when there is a shooting at a school that the proper response is to go toward the gunfire? Kids aren't armed.

This shooting needs to be one of those rare educational opportunities that are hammered, for years to come, into law enforcement into how not to deal with a situation. Any soft target mass killing of this nature every cop, even with just a sidearm, needs to get to the shooter ASAP.

Why isnt the main stream media all over this?

It's not about public safety. It's about total disarment.

Each end every person who failed to respond appropriately should be charged, convicted imprisoned and sued by the family members of those who were killed, injured and who were mentally scared.

Two decades after Columbine and five years after Sandy Hook, educators and police still weren’t ready for Parkland.

I believe the reason is not that school shootings are so frequent as the liberals proclaim.....rather that they are so rare.
A school has how many fire drills per year ... ?Every school in the country has them .. every one.. And how many schools actually have a fire ever... ? .. A handful ... What are the chances of an event like sandy hook happening at your local school. say in the next 50 years .... IF one were to say zero ... They would guess correctly ....
See the conundrum ... Training for an event that has a very slight chance of happening.. We as a society think shootings are common is because Politicans and news media make it their number one story for months on end .
