I would guess this decision at least sets precedent for any other firing or discharge due to an unconstitutional mandate.

Unfortunately, this was not NY’s high court decision. The poorly named NY Supreme Court is new York’s lowest court and this was the decision of a single lower court judge. It is not meaningful news unless and until it is upheld by the NY State Court of Appeals which is New York’s actual supreme court – and that’s two layers of appeal away.
