I don't know if anyone even still uses film cameras anymore. This setup takes awesome quality pictures. Can get super macro pictures with the 2x and 28-200.

I figure the lenses have to be worth something.

It's the aperature or how wide the lens opens expressed in "f'stops". It's the "2" in "1:2" written on lens. 1.7 would open slightly more but 2 is pretty good for a 50mm lens. Wider is basically better for low light but comes at cost of reduced depth of field. If you have ever seen a picture that is super sharp in foreground but all blurred in background that's a wide aperature lens (low f-stop) at work.

Then with the k1000 there was the 1:1.4, was a fast one. That K1000 was an excellent camera

I used to take some awesome pictures with it. I have pictures from Switzerland and Austria that look like postcards. It's a completely manual camera. You have to manually set the f-stop. There is a setting for the film speed. There is a light meter built in. With the 28 - 200 lens and 2x converter, you could almost read a license plate at a 1/4 mile.
