President-elect Trump may cancel US Postal EV mail truck contract

Dec 6 (Reuters) - Donald Trump's transition team is considering canceling the U.S. Postal Service's contracts to electrify its delivery fleet, as part of a broader suite of executive orders targeting electric vehicles, according to three sources familiar with the plans.

The move, which could be unveiled in the early days of Trump’s administration that begins on Jan. 20, is in line with Trump's campaign promises to roll back President Joe Biden’s efforts to decarbonize U.S. transportation to fight climate change – an agenda Trump has said is unnecessary and potentially damaging to the economy.

I really like the simplicity of the Grumman LLV.

I just think it needed slight modernization (different engine and transmission), but overall, the frame and chassis shouldn't be touched.

Since it's been used for so long, folks recognize that it is a mail truck too. These new mail vans make me think they are fake postal vans a lot of times since I'm not used to seeing them.

The other great thing about the LLV is how compact it is making it easier to pass when it's on the shoulder delivering mail. Very smart of Grumman to design such a narrow profile.

Me personally, if I were to change anything with the old style mail truck is I'd be running both gas and diesel variants in case of a problem in the US getting access to either fuel in case of a national crisis.

I'd hate to hit a deer with that electric mail truck, talk about a deer smashing right into the windshield sort of thing. Worse yet a moose.

I can see it now, picture this. Mailman hits deer, deer goes through the windshield, mailman loses control and flips the mail truck into a field and knocks down a wind turbine. The wind turbine crashes to the ground right on top of a solar field.

The electric mail truck battery explodes which makes everything else explode and firemen can't put the ensuing fire out.

All the mail is turned into ash, including Christmas cards, and Christmas is ruined.

All because of the Climate Hoax and the resulting stupid shit like that electric mail truck.

I'm just saying.
