I'll try this again since my post seems to have been removed. No. There is no such thing as a progressive gun rights group. If you follow the constitution there is no room for progress when it comes to gun rights. Where do you go from "shall not be infringed"?

The next step from "shall not be infringed" would spell out legal consequences for those attempting to infringe that right.

Consequences no government agent can be given immunity against, qualified or otherwise.

My personal suggestion would be for the law to consider an attempt to violate those rights as a direct and immediate threat to the life of all gun owners, and would offer any and all gun owners the affirmative defense for actions appropriate to alleviate such a threat.


I.e. attempting to pass or enforce gun control would be considered the equivalent of attempting to murder all gun owners, and we would *all* be afforded the legal justification such a threat entails.
