Anyone know if Putnam will add this to a permit. I bought one and its on my way to my FFL, didn't even think about it.

Id assume I would just have my FFL make out the receipt as P320 9mm, which is what it is going to be. I'm guessing since they are brand new and limited no one knows, so I'll just have to find out and see...

Sig launched basically a stripped p320 "fire control unit" kinda like a stripped glock frame.

Its just the serialized part so no barrel, slide, grip or things that make go bang.

I know now that some counties frown upon/ refuse to register incomplete pistols. Just wondering if anyone has any experience.

Some counties need the rest of the information on an FFL receipt.

Not always Glocks have serial number on frame, slide and barrel only thing that is registered is the frame even if you change slide and barrel it gets listed as whats on receiver. Believe caliber is also required to be listed on permit per NY PL 400.

What do you plan on building with it? Have your FFL list it accordingly.

If your county has an option for registering the frame only that may be the way you have to go. When I registered my 5 stripped FCUs in Jefferson County they wanted calibers. The FCU you bought is only capable of 40 and below so you could register it as a 9/40 which is what I did so I didn’t have to go back and add the calibers to my license later on.

Yes... Just list it for every caliber it's capable of! Make it simple! As a "part" there is no legal requirement to provide you possess it at the time (of registration). Additionally, this would cover you if you change the caliber later (technically).

Personally, the frame has a serial #... And caliber is nothing in my opinion and if you change it, you change it (later)... But there are those who would argue you're in violation of the law. I disagree as the frame, with the registered serial number that identifies the firearm is in fact registered. There is no law to my knowledge that if you modify your then lawful forearm that it be re-registered. And I'd challenge anyone to produce case law of a conviction for a caliber change prosecution and conviction. Lmao... I'm no lawyer, and I'm not offering advice, just my opinion/$.02

My County (Saratoga) wanted the receipt from Brownell's for my 9mm conversion barrel for my M&P 40 both calibers are listed on my license. I would call your County pistol license office.

Why do I need a receipt? The firearm is capable of using that caliber and if required (legally) I would supply an affidavit attesting to the fact my intent to use that caliber. I have a slide I bought at a garage sale, as a part, there is no lawful requirement to provide and tracking or proof of ownership and the affidavit should suffice! Receipt... That's just a bunch of BS right there.

Again, make it a hurdle... Fuck it! Withdraw the amendment and save the schmekles and use the $ for ammo. Swap the slide/barrel and possibly mags and shoot away. There is never, EVER, going to be a check or search for caliber being used... Did I say EVER?

I've purchased a conversion kit for one of my firearms in anticipation of switching to that caliber but I've not used it yet. Should I run and get that added to my permit (permission) prior to use? Ummmm...

What if I changed my mind and sold it but already added it to my permit, do I remove that caliber from my permit? Lmao...

So, here, relevant section of NYS Penal Code Article 400:

... Such license shall specify the weapon covered by calibre make, model, manufacturer's name and serial number, or if none, by any other distinguishing number or identification mark, and shall indicate whether issued to carry on the person or possess on the premises and if on the premises shall also specify the place where the licensee shall possess the same...

So, please highlight for me the section noting only the caliber registered may be used? Or that a caliber not listed on the license is prohibited!? When I purchased and registered, that was the caliber. I don't see any indication that a change thereof requires even notification! Maybe I'm missing it, not being feticious but am always willing to learn.
