Still waiting for some 80s to pop up at that priceJoe Bob outfitters has stripped lowers at $29.99. Once they're gone, they're gone. That's the cheapest I could find them for.
Crazy price. Maybe 15ish years ago I was trying to partner with a fast growing production machine shop I had a good relationship with. They couldn't be bothered with these for less than ~$90/each in full pallet quantities, with me providing the forgings and getting them back still needing anodizing.Joe Bob outfitters has stripped lowers at $29.99. Once they're gone, they're gone. That's the cheapest I could find them for.
Sounds like they only want the tools and skilled workforce, not the legal headache that comes with more evil black guns.Dirty that Ruger is not gonna honor the warranty from Anderson products.
Sounds to me like they think they can use it to make more money selling finished firearms. They sell scary black guns already and seems they still will. I’m guessing selling stripped lowers at $50 isn’t worth it for them but selling finished rifles for $800+ is.Sounds like they only want the tools and skilled workforce, not the legal headache that comes with more evil black guns.
The only 80s I know of in that price range are the polymer ones from EP Armory. They used to ship to NY. I don't know if they still doStill waiting for some 80s to pop up at that price![]()
THIS, 100%!!! ^^^^^^^^^People bitch and talk bad about Anderson, but they were the among, if not the first to market an "Economy" Receiver...used to be able to buy them (3) for $99.
I've assembled Many of them, ZERO Problems, and outside the Boutique and Billet receivers, they're all the same and even from one of two foundries....and don't give me that bullshit about strength: I've built them on .50BMG as well as the snappier calibers like 12.7x42 and .458 again with zero failures.
Latest batch of economy receivers came from DS Arms and their Fathers Day Blem Sale at $25. each or Duracoated Upper/Lower Combo's for $50.

The only guns I’ve ever had any issues with were made by Ruger. My poverty ponies work just fine. Only issue I ever had with them is a small finish nick from the bolt release roll pin insertion that entirely my fault. My Ruger SR22 had to be entirely rebuilt by them with all new parts. They kept the frame but essentially everything else is new. Now the barrel is t in there super straight but it fires and works 95% of the time versus 40-50% of the time.I read about this the other day. Anderson Mfg. is no more. Ruger bought them and is not keeping the name or legacy.
Yeah I know, some people feel Anderson isn't that great, neither is Ruger who's top brass have sided with anti-gun legislation and the ATF.
Personally, owning a couple of Anderson lowers, feel the quality out punched the price.
