Rep. Masssie Pushes For Nationwide Right To Carry Firearms Without Permit​

Earlier this week, the House Judiciary Committee passed a bill HR 38, a bill that allows licensed concealed firearm holders to carry in other states that allow concealed carry.
However, for Rep. Thomas Massie, R-KY, this bill does not go far enough. On X, he said “ I support this bill, but there is a better option, and it is National Constitutional Carry.”
He added, “29 states already have Constitutional (i.e. permitless) Carry. Why not extend it to all 50 states?”

In the Kentucky congressman’s view, if Congress can mandate California to allow permit-less carry for out-of-state visitors based on the Second Amendment, it only makes sense to extend this right to California residents as well.
“Massie’s Real Constitutional Carry law skips all the big-brother-may-I requirements and assumes citizens are law-abiding. National reciprocity is a half measure compromise, as evidenced by the Senate sponsor, Sen John Cornyn.”

This a guess but the NYSP will tell people to register their guns before they come to NY as why to people walk willy nilly while we have all our guns registered. People from free states would just bring guns and then have canoe accidents.

I'll take what I can get the the proper thing to do is that all state gun laws are infringements as they always have and they are canceled and there you go, nationwide carry.

Just like they did for the gay butt sex people.

If by some miracle Constitutional Carry was made the law in all 50, the states that are anti-gun would just make it so you could only carry in your house or maybe, MAYBE, in the woods legally. Even thought it was already ruled, TWICE now, that telling people where they can carry is unconstitutional, this would be the only recourse. That and probably a $1000 tax per new gun purchase.

But nothing will happen. I used to dream. But over the past few months I have realized the dream is dead.

I lost all hope when the courts ruled 98% of the NY UNSAFE Act was constitutional.

I can remember way back in late 2012, early 2013, when many members (on the previous forum we were on at the time), including myself, thought that the clearly unconstitutional NY UNSAFE Act would not stand up to judicial scrutiny even here in New York; it did.

That's when I realized the dream is dead.

And here we are in 2025, post Hochul's CCIA...

I'd say it was on topic. If the people who have power to actually do something about it would, we might see a change. Republicans have the majority, so there should be a ton of bills being written to restore our 2A rights, instead we get fake hope. Like that old TV show tag line, "I want to believe.".
