Yes, the asshole followed him home and came onto Loutitt's property. He went in the house and retrieved his gun. All good so far.

As the asshole was leaving, the homeowner pumped a round into the air, not a good play, regardless of which State one lives in.

Everyone on this board is railing about the 16 hours required now to carry a firearm, most of which is learning NY state law about what is considered self defense. Unfortunately for most here, they will likely learn that their opinion on what constitutes self defense doesn't matter when it comes to the law at their trial.

If you're that concerned about trespass, place your door bell at your property line. You don't get to shoot at someone simple because they rang your bell and you don't want to answer the door and want them off the property. If you are concerned about your safety, call the police, take up a defensive position in your home and wait.

This suspect could have used his cell phone to call the police about the road range incident and if he didn't have one could have driven to the police station, barracks or even a fire department.

IMHO, this guy has serious mental health issues.

Or maybe he lured the guy to his home to commit murder and use self defense as a cover. :ROFL:

First of all, who says the so called victim, didn't threaten the homeowner that he was going back to his car to get his gun? FACT is the AGRESSOR was definitely the perp who followed the other person to their home. This alone is harassment at the least, if he in any way entered the property for the purpose of threatening the homeowner... Well, upgrade to trespassing and more. Discharging the shotty into the air??? Well a great defense would be that he did exactly as the POTUS said he should do...

But yeah, FUCK NY!!!

What was the guy supposed to do, wait for the guy to finish retrieving his firearm or hell, leave and return with one? Then what...?

Sounds like to me a typical gen Z tough guy that when the tables turn cant handle it and get all pussy about it because they shit their own pants...

In a nutshell YES! "Then what"? Then after he presents a firearm (or other weapon) then its self defense, do what needs to be done.
