PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A robbery suspect is dead after a shootout with a FedEx driver on Tuesday night in Philadelphia.

It happened around 7:10 p.m. in front of a home on the 600 block of Unruh Ave. near Bingham St. in the city's Lawndale section.

The company hasn't responded to questions concerning policy for carrying guns on the job.

Seems like it should be standard company training. I can't imagine going into a shit neighborhood without defensive capability. Screw the company and the cargo on the truck, it's about my life and survival. The driver was "shot" and the media is worried about company policy?

My company has a policy against carrying weapons when working or on company property.

I told someone that I can get a new job. I can't get another life. Fire me.

Is the media worried about FedEx policy? If they are, I had not noticed. Are the curious, possibly. I am curious as to their policy myself; hopefully, if all happened as desctibed, the driver will get a raise as opposed to being disciplined and or fired. Of course, hopwfully, he will make a full and speedy recovery and not suffer too much anguish over having killed someone regardless of it having been justified.
