New York has seen an alarming rise in hate crimes since the candidacy of
President Trump. In March 2017, Governor Cuomo and Mayor de Blasio stat-
ed that the number of hate crimes reported in New York City since the
beginning of 2017 was more than double the number of reported incidents
over the same period the previous year.
