SC Non-resident Permit

Before issuing CWP South Carolina requires you take a specific class. "To qualify you must complete the SC Concealed Weapons Permit class provided by a registered South Carolina SLED certified instructor."

Anyone know anything about what is covered in this class? Do you know if they will recognize other classes or certifications as an alternative to taking this class?

I've already taken a bunch of other NRA/Hunting/Defensive Pistol/etc. classes and I am a NRA Pistol Instructor. I would like to avoid having to spend another day in class covering stuff I know inside and out.

Thought I'd ask here for information before calling SLED. Thanks.

When I lived in SC they took my military handgun qualification instead of the class. I belive that any NRA or equivalent class could work

Oh being an NRA instructor might be good enough

I see they wave the fee for military, ex military first responders etc.

They do recognize some states but only resident permits.
