The new Street Czar justified the contract to KOMO News as payment for his “particular genius in a particular area” — saying he can talk to “gang members, pimps and prostitutes” who “won’t sit down with anybody else.”

So Seattle has hired a pimp because convicted pimps have a unique ability to communicate with black people. Is that what they are saying here?

The best part is the last paragraph on why he was chosen. He was chosen because he’s loved the streets. This by no means makes him qualified to do this and is this the persons advice we want? Hey let’s take the recommendations of a guy that hates the police and is a criminal on how to circumvent the system and so the criminals can be treated better and get out of trouble. Wow imagine if they did this with gun owners?

You ever visit Seattle?

6 + 1/2 days of rain out of 7 days there.

There's only a few things to recommend...

- a great Indian restaurant in the northern suburbs, don't remember the name

- statue of Jimi Hendrix...just on a random street

- the MoPOP - Museum of Popular Culture, sort of near the Space Needle - when I was there it had a great Jimi Hendrix exhibit and an outstanding ska/reggae room.

Other than that it's total suckage.

Agreed in principle, but if it were practical to actually put 5 cops on every corner, there wouldn't be very many arrests in the first place.
