First the judges and now this. I have heard of this position before but I thought it had to deal with the rules of how a bill passes a vote. Now it appears the Democrats have found another way for unelected people to exercise power and thwart plans of those that were elected. Just more back alley, power at all costs move by a party out of control. Since when can this position unilaterally decide what can and cannot go into a piece of legislation?

I believe this is part of the "does this pass the Byrd test and belong in a Reconcilliation Bill" process, and was expected to some extent. Many knew there were a few "grey" items that may not past muster but they went for it anyway (gotta try, right?).

The article says the parliamentarian said it wouldn’t pass but then also said it violated rules. Kind of saving money violates rules unless they are trying to pass laws in a spending bill. Oh wait NYS does that all the time.
