I believe "they" started working towards voting on the Sportsmen’s Heritage and Recreational Enhancement Act. Does anyone know how it went yesterday?
I believe if im interpreting this right, it passed the committee phase and now its just a matter of getting the house to vote on it, which will hopefully be soon. After this it goes to the senate and has to go through the same process. At This rate well have it passed by next summer if everything goes at the speed its been for this bill.
Hearing Protection Act won't help us in NY, apparently
Going beyond the Hearing Protection Act, which would remove silencers and suppressors from NFA requirements that include a $200 tax stamp, the SHARE Act would mandate the more than 1.3 million already registered be deleted from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives’ records within 365 days of the bill becoming law. Further, while states would not be required to allow their sale or possession, they would be barred from establishing their own potentially prohibitive taxes or registration requirements on legal devices.
I pay taxes...a lot of taxes. I'm entitled, with regards to federal regulations, to question and ask "Well...what's in it for me this time?"I find it funny that we always say how out states problems are everyone else's problems as well because it could come to them eventually. That never seems to be reciprocal since some of us aee just too busy being jealous of free America.
Saga is basically what you're asking for, which also really needs too pass.I pay taxes...a lot of taxes. I'm entitled, with regards to federal regulations, to question and ask "Well...what's in it for me this time?"
I'm not asking for a handout. I'm not asking for a special favor. But...goddamnit...for once I'd like to see something happen that supports our rights here in New York.
SAGA currently stands at a whopping 6 cosponsors, - only 211 more needed...Saga is basically what you're asking for, which also really needs too pass.
And depending on how the share act/HPA is written in its final form the combination of the two could really turn new york gun laws on its head.
I don't give a fuck if it helps us here in NY or not, I know it wouldn't help us, that's not the point of getting it passed
