My first son was born while my wife was at UB she made it work and completed her masters then later her PhD. She even had to bring my son to campus some days when I had to work and no one could watch him. The decision was set to come out in June at the end of the SC session. That's still well before November elections. No need to leak if if that's your goal. Heck, waiting until it was closer would be better if that was their goal.
If the leak had a political purpose I think it would more to be influence the decision itself and not drum up votes.

I actually believe this is the intent. So many on the left think their views and ideals are the most important thing in the world and they love power. They love it more than anything and seek it out at every opportunity possible.
Here IMO the most likely chain of events is some SCOTUS underling caught wind of the decision and decided (since he's a leftist idealogue) to abuse his position and trust placed in him/her/ce/it/thing to try and alter the outcome, he wanted to leak the pending decision to try and gin up public outrage to intimidate the justices to then secretly change their opinion before it is publicly released. To him/her/it/they/ze the ends justify the means and it's worth subverting our system so long as it pushes their agenda which is more important than anything.
That's the type of person who would do this. And to me it makes the most sense.
Now there is a historical precedent for people who abuse their positions from within the government to affect and subvert the government and due process. The historical precedent is lengthy prison terms or being introduced to a wall. Both of which are applicable and our courts need to start making examples of people who abuse the government under the extent of the laws and due process of course.
It's not intimidation. It's protesting. If I don't like what you do as a government representative I can protest your actions in public places.
I'm also ok with the government representatives fearing the people. They've acted like royalty for far too long. They work for us, not the other way around.
